While our Chief Technical Affairs / Head of Flight Ops was enjoying a glider camp in France, Frank van den Bos was able to do some work on the Supermarine Aircraft Spitfire Mk.26B kit PH-VLP. Van den Bos Aviation has other jobs to do, we agreed our project would be squeezed in the spare moments. Besides, we have quite some work to do on the ship ourselves, obviously we will coordinate this with Frank and Louis, we don’t want to be in their way.
First thing they picked up was the seating part. Dan Springer, original owner/builder, intended to complete this kit as a “Single Seater”. As our Foundation offers co-owners a flight experience, a single seater concept would make that impossible. Luckily, it is not impossible to transfer the kit to a Two Seater in the current stage of construction.

An employee of one of the co-owners had made an extended back rest for High Lady, we will use that back rest for Prinses Beatrix as well, as it will give the rear passenger just a little bit more space.

The bracket to mount the front seat was placed…..

Subsequently the base plate for the front seat.
Victor will go to France a second time in about two and a half weeks. Until then he plans to do some jobs on the kit. Your reported was given the tast to move the work table from Hilversum Airfield to the kit’s current location, Teuge Airfield coming week. Once Victor is back, we intend to increase the frequency of our visits to the kit and make work of transferring systems from High Lady to Prinses Beatrix. And of course we will keep you all updated on our website.
